London's City Churches by Stephen Millar
The sanctity of the church has prevented London's churches from being redeveloped or altered in any significant way and so they remain historical islands while the environment around them has changed beyond recognition. This book includes some of the capital's finest architecture.
Stephen Millar, a writer and photographer born and brought up in Glasgow, has recently returned to live there part-time. He is the author of Tribes of Glasgow, London's Hidden Walks (vols 1-3), Edinburgh's Hidden Walks and London's City Churches. He has taken the photographs for all his books as well as for London Architecture. His articles and photographs have appeared in iNews, The Scotsman, The Herald on Sunday, Edinburgh Evening News and The Telegraph. Stephen has spoken about his work at Glasgow's Aye Write! Book Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. Gillian Loney is a journalist, columnist and editor of Glasgow Live, the city's biggest news website. She has spent a decade covering culture, what's on and breaking news, and specialises in writing about Glasgow's growing food and drink scene - which means she's always on hand to recommend local restaurants! Her work has also featured in the Daily Record, The Scotsman, the Daily Mirror, the Wow24-7 website and more. Secret Glasgow, her first book, marks a new chapter for her.
