For 42 years, Michael Field has worked as a newspaper and agency correspondent, primarily covering the South Pacific. He is now a reporter for Fairfax Media and a Pacific affairs commentator on Radio New Zealand's Nine to Noon program. He was previously a correspondent for Agence France-Presse. Black Saturday: Killings in Samoa, Speight of Violence: Inside Fiji's 2000 Coup, and Swimming with Sharks: Stories from the South Pacific Frontline are some of his works.
