Lord of the Seasons by Peter Firth

Listeners to early morning Radio 2 and Pause for Thought will have heard many of Peter Firth's thoughtful meditations, in which he reflects on the meaning of life with its hopes and disappointments, its failures and opportunities, through the changing seasons of the year. So summer suggests days of hope, autumn the time to slow down, winter an opportunity for positive idleness and spring the promise of a new beginning. And through it all there is a direct relationship with God, our closet friend and the source of all our life.
Peter Firth is Honorary Canon of Bristol Cathedral and is responsible for the production of BBC religious programme from the west region. He was educated at Stockport and Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and served in the ministry at Worcester, Malvern and Manchester. He is the winner of two radio awards, and is the composer of several hymns.
