Helaine Mario is a Boston University graduate who grew up in the New York City area. While living in the Washington region, she served on a number of charitable boards. She is the founder and president of The SunDial Foundation, which supports over 30 DC-area NGOs. She is a dedicated advocate for women's and children's concerns. Helaine now splits her time between Arlington, Virginia, and Sarasota, Florida, with her husband Ron. Sean, her classical pianist son, was the inspiration for her second novel.
