Love is Enough by Clive Wilmer
Love is Enough is a selection of 19th-century love poems matched with breathtaking images from paintings and drawings by Edward Burne-Jones, Dante Gabriel Rossetti and other Pre-Raphaelite artists. This unique anthology brings together the work of English poets such as Byron, Shelley, Keats, Wordsworth, Tennyson and Swinburne; American 'immortals' such as Emerson and Edgar Allan Poe; and many examples of writings by Pre-Raphaelites like Dante Gabriel Rossetti and William Morris, who were both poets and painters. The paintings and drawings chosen to illustrate the poems contain some of the most haunting and beautiful images from 19th-century art. A 6 page Index of Paintings at the end of the book shows each painting in its entirety. An anthology for lovers of art and poetry, and for lovers everywhere - a celebration of the power of love.
