Love, Lies, and Hocus Pocus Beginnings by Lydia Sherrer
Saving the world is such a bother when it makes you late for tea.By day, book-loving wizard Lily Singer manages library archives. By night? She sleeps, of course. In between, she studies magic and tries to keep her witch friend Sebastian out of trouble. Much to her displeasure, he finds it anyway and drags her along with him. From unmaking ancient curses to rescuing a town lost in time, Lily and Sebastian fight to avert magical mayhem. Meanwhile, Lily s mysterious past begins to unfold a past hidden from her by those she trusts most. Will she be able to discover the truth despite them?Lydia Sherrer is the author of the Love, Lies, and Hocus Pocus magical adventure series, and her objective is to leave the world a better place than she found it. Lydia has been writing for more than a decade and loves nothing more than a good book, a cup of tea, and a comfortable chair in the sunshine. Despite the insects and hay sickness, she was utterly corrupted by a profound love for the rolling countryside of rural Kentucky as a child. Her parents had to pull books away from her from the dinner table because she was indoctrinated with a desire for literature at a young age. Despite possessing a dual BA in Chinese and Arabic, she returned home after traveling the world and opted to stay.
She currently lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with her supporting and loving husband and their loud cat. Lydia crams her days with all sorts of excitement when she isn't working on her next book. She has a huge passion for life, making things, and experiencing the globe. She enjoys traditional archery, cosplay, larping, and art, in addition to playing her ocarina (think Zelda). Dark chocolate and tea, she feels, are valid forms of nutrition, and she intends to visit every country on the planet one day.
Lydia Sherrer's short stories have appeared in a number of anthologies, in addition to her urban fantasy novels The Lily Singer Adventures and The Dark Roads Trilogy. Her award-winning short story Hope, a post-apocalyptic tale of survival, was selected for inclusion in Almond Press' annual dystopian short story contest and Apocalypse Chronicles collection. The Young Salvationist Magazine published her nonfiction articles. Lydia's goal is to make the world a better place one narrative at a time, not just produce good novels.
Her mission is to write with a purpose and to encourage others to dive deep into the life they've been given and to dream big, for the world is founded on dreams.
