The Lover by Amanda Brookfield

When Frances married her husband the ten year age gap seemed nothing to worry about. But twenty years later Paul's death in middle age leaves Frances a widow at only forty-three. One life is over. Is there a new one about to begin? It seems so when, as her grief begins to lessen, she meets Daniel, a university lecturer who clearly adores her. But Daniel is only twenty-six, and this time the age gap is bringing with it all sorts of problems...
'Superb in its minute observation' -- Northern Echo 'If you are a Joanna Trollope addict you could try Brookfield' -- The Oxford Times 'A thoroughly heart-warming tale about a mid-life crisis' -- Family Circle 'A cheer-up book' 'Brookfield's style is gorgeously rich and lively' NEW REVIEW 'Amanda Brookfield's writing never fails to please' -- Devon Life
Amanda Brookfield gained a First Class Honours Degree from Oxford before working at an advertising agency for several years. She wrote her first novel while living in Buenos Aires with her diplomat husband, and her second while in Washington, D.C. She has two young sons and now lives in London and divides her time between writing fiction and looking after her family.
