Sharlene MacLaren was born and raised in the state of Michigan's western region, where she attended Spring Arbor University. Ella later married one of her childhood friends and had two beautiful daughters with him. Shar enjoys reading, singing in the choir of her church, participating in the alabanza group, traveling and spending time with her husband, children, and precious nieces and nephews--and, of course, writing. Ella and her husband Cecil reside in Spring Lake, Michigan. Sharlene MacLaren is a West Michigan native who attended Spring Arbor University.

She married one of her childhood pals after finishing with a degree in education. They had two wonderful girls together. Shar enjoys reading, writing, singing in the church choir and worship team, traveling, and spending time with her husband, children, and wonderful grandkids now that she is blissfully retired after thirty-one years of teaching elementary education. She lives in Spring Lake, Michigan, with her husband Cecil.
