Lucy Goes to Market by Sanchia Oppenheimer
When Lucy goes to market she finds everything she needs, from an Asparagus Angel and a Delicate Dragon, to an Invisible Igloo and a pair of Wacky Wellingtons. But will they all fit in her doll's house? A uniquely beautiful alphabet book and a stunning picture book debut from the winner of the Macmillan Prize for Illustration.
Sanchia Oppenheimer is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with a private practice in Buckinghamshire. She turned her pen to picture books especially to collaborate with daughter Imogen. LUCY GOES TO MARKET was dreamt up over many afternoons sitting on a squishy sofa, fuelled by tea and chocolates. Imogen Clare studied illustration at the University of Northampton and won both the Macmillan Prize for Illustration in 2007 and the AOI New Talent Bronze Award in 2008, all whilst still a student. Illustrated with charm, humour and a vivid imagination LUCY GOES TO MARKET marks the beginning of what will surely be a hugely successful picture book career.
