Nicola Moon was born in Bristol, but grew up in Yorkshire. She has worked as a laboratory research assistant and a secondary school science teacher. Nicola's first picture book was published in 1994 and to date she has had over a dozen titles published including, for Orchard, Lucy's Picture. Nicola lives in Wiltshire. Alex Ayliffe is a well-known children's book illustrator. Her titles for Orchard include the bestselling Dig Dig Digging, Emergency! Choo Choo Clickety-Clack! Roar! Snap! and her latest title Stomp, Dinosaur, Stomp! Her board book Boo Barney won the Sainsbury's Baby Book Award. Alex Lives in Hertfordshire with her family.
