Philip Horkman is a happy man, the owner of a pet store called The Wine Shop, and on Sundays a referee for a local kids' soccer league. Jeffrey Peckerman is the proud and loving father of a star athlete in the girls' ten-and-under soccer league, and he's not exactly happy with the ref.

Alan Zweibel is a former writer for Saturday Night Live who has received numerous Emmy and Writers Guild of America honors for his work in television. He also co-wrote the Tony Award-winning Broadway comedy 700 Sundays with Billy Crystal, and his novel The Other Shulman earned the Thurber Prize for American Humor. Billy Crystal is an actor, comedian, writer, producer, director, and television host from the United States. With his career, he has garnered numerous honors, including six Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he rose to notoriety as a comic thanks to his appearances on Saturday Night Live.
