Lux the Poet by Martin Millar

Set in the 80s Brixton riots, Lux is searching for Pearl - the love of his life. As she and her friend Nicky search for sanctuary, the two are being followed by mad scientists. Lux is helped in his quest by a castaway of Heaven and sets out to proclaim his love for Pearl.

Martin Millar was born in Glasgow, Scotland, but has spent most of his life in London, England. He's written a variety of works, including novels, plays, short tales, and articles. Suzy, Led Zeppelin, and Me, his most recent work, is set in Glasgow. Love and Peace with Melody Paradise; Milk, Sulphate, and Alby Starvation; Lux the Poet; The Good Fairies of New York; Dreams of Sex and Stage Diving and Ruby; and The Stone Age Diet are among Millar's other works. Millar is a fan of Jane Austen's writings and has written a theater adaptation of Emma.

He even penned the novelization for the film Tank Girl. Last but not least, Millar writes the Thraxas series as Martin Scott. He's written five so far, the first of which won him the World Fantasy Award. Millar enjoys watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer, reading history books, especially those about ancient Greece, and playing the flute when he is not writing.
