
Lyrics of the Middle Ages by James Wilhelm
Originally published in 1990, the main purpose of this anthology is to present the vernacular secular lyric of the Middle Ages, although it also includes Latin literature of the Middle Ages and the influence of the hymn.
J. Wilhelm is Professor of Comparative Literature at Rutgers University and author of several works on poetry and Pound, including The American Roots of Ezra Pound (1985) and Ezra Pound in London and Paris, 1908-1925 (Penn State, 1990).
