This is a new, beautifully illustrated and comprehensive version of a book originally published by the School in 1989. Fully re-designed, it has been brought up to date with a couple of new chapters and a lot of new artwork. The book is now full colour throughout. This is a celebration of Mackintosh's glorious building which still draws visitors from all over the world and of the School which has played such an important role in the British art scene. It also gives insight into a fascinating period in Mackintosh's life.
After serving as Art director of the Scottish Arts Council, William Buchanan returned to the Glasgow School of Art, where he had been a student, and School. He has published widely on the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh has a special interest in Japanese influences on his work.
