Sol Kwon is the author of The Magical Awakening of Emmy Sukar, her debut novel. She lives in Washington, DC, with her husband and a Westie named Chester. She meditates almost every day and loves to explore the layers of her mind, body and spirit, which inspired the story of The Magical Awakening. Sol grew up reading all kinds of books, from the philosophical Sophie's World to passionate poetry by W.B. Yeats. While most of her professional career has involved writing about corporate social responsibility, she discovered her love for writing fiction when she began The Magical Awakening in 2013. Sol is a member of the Society of Children's Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and The Writers' Center.
