The Manchester Collection by Chris Makepeace
Over the years, Chris Makepeace has collected a unique archive of old photographs and memorabilia of Manchester past. This title brings together his three volumes of "Manchester in Old Photographs". Over 400 photographs have been selected to record the past for future generations, and provide an insight into the lives of ordinary people as recorded by the camera. Chris Makepeace has lived in the Manchester area for almost forty years and has a particular interest in the history of the city since the mid-eighteenth century. He started his working career as a librarian in manchester's Local History Library and is now a local history tutor for several different organisations. He has written several pictorial histories of the area.
