Maps of the Soul by Ahmed Fagih
A giddy journey through 1930s Tripoli, as compelling as it is damning. War, desire, and scheming are at the heart of this historical novel by a major voice in modern Libyan fiction. It explores Libya's troubled past as it emerges from forty-two years of brutal dictatorship.
