Markie's Pockets is a sweet story of a little boy. He walks around his neighborhood with his mom every day. On his short journeys, he finds ordinary objects that he places in his pockets to take home. These are his treasures. Your child will enjoy seeing what Markie finds and how, when his pockets are full, he manages to transport his treasures home. At the completion of the story, there is a memory question for your child to answer. Your child will feel proud realizing how much he remembers.

BARBARA WILLIAMS is a Canadian actress and musician. Williams appeared in the films Thief of Hearts and City of Hope early in her career. With the telepic Mother Trucker, she earned a Canadian Emmy Award for Best Actress. She was a member of Vancouver's Resident Theatre Group, and among her more than thirty theatrical roles were Amelia Earhart in the musical Amelia at the National Arts Center of Canada, Joan Baez at the Met Theatre in Los Angeles, and Lady Macbeth in La Jolla, California, all directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff. She has played as a musician throughout the United States and Canada, frequently at events promoting peace, workers' rights, and the environment.

Her debut novel is The Hope in Leaving. Her son, Liam, and her husband, Tom Hayden, live and work in Los Angeles.
