The Marquess's Christmas Runaway by Josie Bonham

Max, Marquess of Hargreaves, is in urgent need of a wife. Searching for a bride is a daunting prospect with seven sisters all eager to help.

Finding the sort of bride he is likely to be happy with won't be easy for the man who defied the rules of gentlemanly conduct by breaking his betrothal a decade before. Careful parents will look at him askance after that scandal and he dreads being trapped by another woman only interested in his wealth and position.

Desperate to escape a forced marriage, Georgie Sherborne runs away from her guardian on a snowy morning days before her twenty first birthday. Max rescues her and offers marriage to save her reputation and solve his problem. The marriage starts well but the odd attitude of Max's housekeeper towards Georgie makes him wonder if he has been trapped after all.

Stolen kisses, a Christmas Eve wedding and the joy of a traditional family Christmas all feature in this heartwarming Regency romance.

Perfect for readers of Mary Balogh, Stephanie Laurens, Julia Quinn, Georgette Heyer and Jane Austen.

Bonham, Josie: - Josie lives in the English midlands, surrounded by towns full of history such as Evesham, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwick and Worcester. Which is perhaps why her favourite reads are historical. Out of all the periods to choose from the Regency Era stirs her imagination the most. The true Regency lasted from 1811 until 1820 but dates as wide as 1789 to 1837 have been included in the extended Regency period. For Josie the true flavour of this period emerges after the iniquitous hair powder tax of 1795, unsurprisingly, scuppered the fashion for hair powder almost overnight. Josie has always dabbled in stories but it took the combined efforts of her sister and eldest niece to set her on the path to writing novels. Her Regency romances, with a dash of adventure and intrigue, are the result. There is more information on her website at www.josiebonhamauthor.com
