Jan Fearnley grew up in South Shields, Tyneside. She studied graphic design and went on to teach at primary school before becoming a full-time author-illustrator. Her own picture books include Watch Out, Wilf! (9781844285099) and The Search for the Perfect Child (9780744565928), as well as numerous illustrated titles for other authors. She lives in Surrey.
