MASTERING WATERCOLOUR by Ray Evans
The five contributors go beyond the normal brief of art-technique books to demonstrate that there are different ways of painting a subject, even when using the same medium, in this case, watercolour. They explain the equipment they use and show how to make preliminary sketches in various media.
Evans, Ray: - Born in Liverpool in 1933, Ray Evans was evacuated to the South Wales town of Llanelli at the outbreak of World War II. He remained there until the cessation of hostilities in 1945. When he left school he spent two years in Egypt as a member of the Royal Army Medical Corps, before marrying in 1956. The author started a wholesale clothing business in 1964 and ran this enterprise successfully until 1995 when he and his family moved to the USA. Here he lived first in New England, but is now a resident in Virginia. He has been happily married to his wife, Lilian, for 49 years; they have two children and six grandchildren.
