Alfio Quarteroni is a professor of numerical analysis at the Politecnico di Milano and of modelling and scientific computation at the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne). He has been the scientific director of the MOX Laboratorio di Modellistica e Calcolo Scientifico at the Politecnico di Milano since 2002. Founder and Director of MATHICSE (Mathematical Institute of Computational Science and Engineering - all EPFL) since 2010.
