Matthew for Everyone: Part 1 by Tom Wright
Tom Wright has completed a tremendous task: to provide comprehensive guides to all the books of the New Testament, and to furnish them with his own fresh translation of the entire text. Each short passage is followed by a highly readable commentary with helpful background information. The format makes it appropriate also for daily study.
".. Of commentaries accessible to the general reader, Tom Wright's Matthew for Everyone leads the field. Energetic, direct and forceful, it reads like the best sort of extempore preaching." -- Kirsty Anderson Reviews editor at Reader & Marion Gray Chair of editorial committess at Reader * The Reader Magazine *
"Each book is written in Wright's familiar, accessible language and can be used either individual or group study to enhance reader understanding of the Bible" -- Life and Work
" This enterprise is probably the most exciting thing to have happened in Christian education in Britain for many years" -- Expository Times
