David Ashton was born in the Scottish town of Greenock in 1941. From 1964 to 1967, he attended Central Drama School in London. David began writing in 1984, and several of his plays and TV adaptations have been broadcast. He contributed to early episodes of EastEnders and Casualty, as well as seven McLevy series for BBC Radio 4.
