Meltdown by Patrick J Michaels

An eminently readable and often humorous critique, Meltdown documents hundreds of exaggerations from scientists, politicians and the media, and ties them together with the common thread of rational self-interest.

Patrick J. Michaels is a senior fellow in environmental studies at the Cato Institute in Washington, DC, and a research professor of environmental sciences at the University of Virginia. He is also the state climatologist for Virginia. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago, and in 1979, he received his doctorate in Ecological Climatology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Michaels served as program chair for the American Meteorological Society's Committee on Applied Climatology and is a previous president of the American Association of State Climatologists.
