Memoirs of a Feminist Mother by Carol Fox
As a committed feminist, Carol Fox has achieved success for very many women, but her greatest battle, described in this book was very personal. Written as a memoir addressed to her only daughter, the story is of interest to a wide audience of women.
As a committed feminist Carol Fox has achieved success for very many women, but her greatest battle described in this book was very personal. Following serious fertility problems Carol made the positive decision to become a single parent by choice, to have a child while she still could. Carol was a lawyer specialising in equality and discrimination law, best known in Scotland for successfully fighting mass equal pay cases for low paid women and playing an active part in the Referendum campaign. She was also a political candidate on three occasions but was considered too controversial by half, following her decision to become a single mother by choice via infertility treatment in the late 1980's. In 2015, Carol stepped back from her life as a successful lawyer and all political activity to look after her mother who was dying of dementia. Now a grandmother herself, Carol is forging ahead to find a new path and to fulfil new dreams.
