The Merry Chase by Clement Hurd

Clement Hurd's books have been beloved by millions of children. From Goodnight Moon to The Runaway Bunny, his books have remained favourites from one generation to the next. This rediscovered classic, originally published in 1941 and out of print for many, many years, is freshly back in print. Readers will delight in following Dog and Cat as they race under ladders, across tables, over people and through rooms of every kind. With its vibrant palette- the pictures nearly glow - and its energetic illustrations, The Merry Chase is a wild romp from beginning to end
Clement Hurd (1908-1988) spent much of his life illustrating children's books. After studying in Paris with Fernand Leger and Jean Lurcat he began his career as a freelance artist and muralist. Then with encouragement of Margaret Wise Brown he became an illustrator. He also collaborated on more than 50 books with his wife Edith Thacher Hurd.
