Susan Lamb began her work as a naturalist with the National Park Service at San Francisco's Golden Gate National Recreation Area, eventually shifting to Grand Canyon National Park. She is the author of numerous books and articles on natural and human history, including Ancient Walls: Indigenous Remains of the Southwest, Lava Beds National Monument, Alcatraz: The Rock, Grand Canyon: The Site of Emergence, and others.
