Karen Brown began her publishing venture at nineteen, when she began to spend time in France and Britain researching, writing and publishing her first two titles. Books on Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Ireland and Germany followed with the enlisted aid of her mother, Clare Brown, a former travel agent whose expertise proved invaluable. June Brown, an English woman, no relation, was later recruited to the staff.
