Michael by Tony Bradman

"Michael was...different. His teachers said he was the worst boy in the school. He was always late and he was a little scruffy." Is there no hope for him at all? Or is it good to be different? Tony Bradman's humorous text and Tony Ross's zany illustrations make Michael the ideal picture book for all children, but particularly for children who are 'different' to their peers in some way.
"Everyone knows an unconventional genius like Michael but it takes a combination like Bradman and wacky cartoon-style illustrator Tony Ross (he of the angry red cheeks and tiny turned-up noses) to bring him to life so effectively" * The Glasgow Herald *
"Perpetually in trouble for being scruffy, cheeky and not liking the kind of books, numbers or art they had in school, he is predicted by sour-faced teachers to 'come to no good'. But he has the last laugh - he becomes a rocket scientist and blasts off in a streak of red." * The Times *
"Michael is a powerful story that comes as a real breath of fresh air." * Early Years Educator *
"Michael is different, goes his own way, is extremely non-conformist at school, but surprises in the end in the simply effective story." * School Librarian *
"This can be enjoyed by every and any one who likes a story and is a lesson to us all." * Carousel *
