Michael Parkinson on Golf by Michael Parkinson

It is often forgotten that Michael Parkinson first came to notice as an outstanding sports writer. After years of focusing on cricket and football, he was eventually won over to golf. He has since played on an enviable number of courses throughout the world and has interviewed many of the great players, their teachers and celebrity golfers. In this entertaining collection of articles, Parkinson combines his infectious sense of humour with sketches of his subjects. On holiday or relaxing after eighteen holes of golf, this is a book that will hold the attention, make you laugh and may even improve your golf.
Born in Yorkshire, Michael Parkinson left school at sixteen with the ambition to play cricket for Yorkshire and England and to write about cricket for the Manchester Guardian. Although he didn't manage to fulfil the first half of his ambition, he has since become one of the most successful journalists of his generation. He wrote a sports column for The Sunday Times for fifteen years and has also written for the Telegraph. He is a legendary TV and radio presenter - his long-running chat show Parkinson was hugely popular for many years.
