for any Inis Oirr lovers or just lovers of beautifully told and illustrated children’s books, this one by Brian Gallagher and Phillip Cullen is just gorgeous

an enchanting escape from reality to a dreamland set off the coast of Galway on one of the Aran islandsMillie embarks on a dreamy moonlit flight aboard the shipwrecked MV Plassey and soars through the skies over the beautiful island of Inis Oirr. While Phillip Cullen captures the heart of the island through his artwork, Brian Gallagher does so by weaving the history and wildness of the island with a fantastical tale. Cullen’s illustrations beautifully capture the time capsule that is Inis Oirr, whether it’s losing yourself in the labyrinth of surrounding stone walls or among the roads with grass poking through, its remoteness, history, and natural beauty are preserved in this little book. Gallagher’s charming story exemplifies how our creativity and sense of curiosity is greatly influenced by our surroundings and inspirits the reader to dream a little dream
