Milly-Molly-Mandy Stories by Joyce Lankester Brisley

A little girl with a heart of gold The stories of Milly-Molly-Mandy, the little girl with the pink-and-white striped dress, have been enjoyed by generations of readers since they were first published in 1925. Follow Milly-Molly-Mandy as she gives a party, gets to know her new teacher, keeps shop and spends her first night away from home. Milly-Molly-Mandy's warm family relationships and her adventures with playmates Billy Blunt and little-friend Susan are a delight. Perfect to read aloud, these timeless tales will touch a chord with all young children. This classic edition is the first ever Milly-Molly-Mandy storybook, as published by Harrap in 1928, complete with its charming original illustrations.
Joyce Lankester Brisley (1896-1978) was only thirteen when her first story was published in a children's magazine. Joyce later studied at Lambeth Art School, and she and her two sisters all had paintings exhibited at the Royal Academy. She designed posters and book jackets, as well as illustrating the work of other authors. However, she is most famous for the creation of Milly-Molly-Mandy, whose enduring popularity makes her a true classic of children's literature.
