Anna Beer is a University Lecturer in English Literature based at Kellogg College, Oxford, in the Department for Continuing Education. She is the author of the acclaimed Bess: The Life of Lady Ralegh, Wife to Sir Walter, and of an earlier academic study of Sir Walter Ralegh's life and works, Sir Walter Ralegh and his Readers in the Seventeenth Century. Each work was the result of years of sustained investigative analysis of manuscript and early print sources. She lives in Oxford with her husband and three children.
