The Miracles of Jesus by Hugh Montefiore
An investigation into what miracles are and how Jesus was capable of carrying them out Hugh Montefiore looks at what we mean by a miracle and then examines all the major miracles of Jesus including the resurrection, and concludes that most of them did happen as the gospels recount them. He proposes that in some cases this was due, not so much to supernatural intervention, as to powers of perception, intuition and other paranormal powers which Jesus was able to exercise. Chapter headings include: 'Criteria for a Miracle' 'Jesus sees into the Heart: Clairvoyance' 'The Transfiguration; luminosity' 'Healings' 'Resurrection appearances'.
Hugh Montefiore was a Jew who converted to Christianity, a scientist who became a New Testament scholar at the University of Cambridge, and eventually Bishop of Birmingham.
