Modern Age by George Panichas
These seventy-eight essays characterise the richness and diversity of conservative scholarship. MODERN AGE was founded in 1957 by Russell Kirk, with Henry Regnery and David S Collier. The magazine is now published by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.
George A. Panichas, who began editing the quarterly Modern Age in 1982, will step down from his editorship at the end of 2007. A humanist teacher and critic, he has written about novelists such as Dostoevsky, Conrad, and Lawrence, about social and religious thinkers such as Irving Babbitt, Simone Weil, and Austin Warren, and about sundry subjects in criticism, culture, and society from a moralist perspective.
