She is an advocate for women's and children's rights, a pioneer in making child abuse a national problem, a communicator about the long-term impacts of childhood trauma on adult survivors, a businesswoman, writer-producer, public speaker, and workshop presenter, as well as a businesswoman, writer-producer, public speaker, and workshop presenter. She was the Commissioner of Children's Services for the County of Los Angeles, and she graduated from the University of Southern California with a master's degree in communication management. Mommie Dearest, her autobiographical first book, was a New York Times bestseller for 42 weeks and was eventually adapted into a picture by Paramount. Black Widow, her second book, was likewise a hit and has been translated into seven languages.
Survivor, her third book, was released in 1988. She currently resides in the state of Idaho's northern region.
