Monkey Island by Paula Fox
The History of the Hermitage is primarily concerned with the hopes and dreams of the original partners and later shareholders. As with many dreams, these included the trials and tribulations encountered on the path to the achievement of those dreams. The result was a 516 acre haven of peace, which could easily be taken for a small lake in the Alps of Austria or Switzerland. From 1972 to 2000, the Hermitage had achieved its goals of a recreational retreat from urban life and business affairs, in an environment conducive to rest and recreation, to the enjoyment of wildlife and wilderness, in a setting of natural beauty and simplicity, and in an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill, tolerance and forbearance
