The Monuments of Ancient Egypt by Jeremy Stafford-Deitsch

Innumerable books have appeared over the decades dealing with the culture and artefacts of Ancient Egypt. This is the first large-scale book in just as many decades that does justice to the prime source of the visitor's interest: the monuments themselves. With 120 stunning colour photographs and accompanying text about the major sites, this book should fully reflect the magnificence of Egypt's greatest monuments.
Jeremy Stafford-Deitsch studied Egyptology at University College London. He has published five natural history books illustrated with his own photographs, on the subjects of coral reefs, mangrove ecosystems and sharks. T.G.H. James is a former Keeper of Egyptian Antiquities at the British Museum. His numerous publications include Egypt: the Living Past, Egyptian Sculpture (with Vivian Davies) and Ancient Egypt: the Land and its Legacy.
