Tom Stienstra's full-time profession has been to record and express the outdoor experience for the past 30 years. This has taken him across California, where he has gone fishing, hiking, camping, boating, bicycling, and flying in quest of the greatest of the outdoors to write about. Tom is the best-selling author of outdoor guidebooks in the United States. He was elected into the California Outdoor Hall of Fame and twice received the Outdoor Writers Society of America's National Outdoor Writer of the Year, newspaper division. He's also won five times as California Outdoor Journalist of the Year, the most recent being in 2007.
