More Tea Less Vicar! by Jill Fraser
When Mac and Kate Arnold and their four young children move from their cluttered cottage to 'The Old Vicarage' in Lower Hadbury, they have no idea that their new home comes with several strings attached! With packing cases still in the hall, they learn that their new responsibilities include hosting the annual Fete, inviting fifty village carol singers in for mince pies and mulled wine, helping to keep the playground tidy and taking a turn on the church flower rota. When the church warden suggests that Kate might like to hold an Easter Workshop in the garden, she soon ends up taking responsibility for the new Family Service too. And that's only the start! Hindered by a mad aunt and a fanatical sister in law, the bewildered villagers can only look on in disbelief as the chaos unfolds.
First and foremost a wife and mum, Jill Fraser trained as a nurse at London's St Thomas' Hospital and the University of North Carolina. Whilst in the USA she started writing as a reporter for 'Woman's Hour' on Radio 4 and 'Newsround' and 'Breakfast Time' for BBC1. Since having children and settling in the Midlands she has worked as a reporter/researcher for a number of regional television programmes including 'Heart of the Country'. For the past fourteen years she has lived in an Old Vicarage and amongst other village commitments, organises the Sunday school and the Village Fete!
