Immersed in Soviet life, Will befriends Tristan, a fellow British student, and Valya, an attractive young Russian woman. Against a backdrop of developing East-West diplomatic and business ties, Will discovers some disconcerting aspects of life in Moscow, with threatening consequences for himself and his two companions. Resolving to unravel the murky events in a risky and dangerous journey, he pursues justice and retribution amidst a ruthless business conspiracy. Can Will extricate himself as events spiral further out of control?
Richard Fassam-Wright worked for 38 years in senior positions in the European Union and the United Nations where he specialised in foreign, security and humanitarian policy issues. He has a longstanding interest in Russia, its people, its history and its culture. He spent five years studying and working in Moscow in both Soviet and post-Soviet times. Set in Russia in the 1970’s, A Moscow Awakening is his first novel. He now lives in London
