A Mother's Courage to Awaken by Paula Petry
A Mother's Courage to Awaken is a story about death and resurrection, literal and figurative. A story about unimaginable loss and the will to not only survive but thrive.
For twelve years, Dr. Paula Petry held a faculty position at the University of Miami, School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. While there she developed training programs for pediatricians, psychologists, social workers and other health care professionals to help them better serve children with special needs and their families. As an advocate for children with disabilities, she formed what is now one of the leading parent advocacy organizations in the country. After the death of her daughter, Alexandra, Dr. Petry began her studies in energy medicine, sound healing, and the expressive arts. She uniquely blends them together in retreats, workshops, and individual shamanic healing sessions, nationally and internationally. She is a co-owner of the Light of Heart Sanctuary and resides in upstate New York.
