It was a literary sensation in the West and has since been translated into more than 30 languages, becoming an international bestseller. Miss Chopsticks is her first novel, and she has also published four nonfiction works: Sky Burial, China Witness, Letter from an Unknown Chinese Mother, and Buy Me the Sky. In nearly twenty countries, Xinran has given lectures and talks on writing, Chinese women, and history.
She founded The Mothers' Bridge of Love charity in 2004 with the goal of building a bridge of understanding between China and the West. Xinran is based in London, but she travels to China on a regular basis.
