Jerry Minchey has written a number of novels. He holds an electrical engineering bachelor's degree, an MBA from USC, and an OPM from Harvard Business School. He worked for NASA on the Apollo lunar mission and as a computer design engineer for many years. He's owned a number of engineering and marketing companies. He is the founder and editor of two Internet membership websites, MarketingYourRestaurant.com and SearchEngineU.com, which he is now semi-retired from.

He approaches challenges from both a logical and an economic and financial stance as an engineer and a business major. While weighing the benefits and drawbacks of moving to a 55+ community, he adopts this approach. He also draws on his personal experience living in 55+ communities. For the past 15 years, his parents have owned and lived in 55+ parks, buying and selling houses along the way.

He had a wealth of knowledge and experience to rely on when he set out to investigate and report on the benefits of moving into a 55+ park, having had countless uncles, aunts, cousins, and acquaintances retire and move into 55+ parks over the years. He now travels full-time in his motorhome between the North Carolina mountains in the summer and the Florida beaches in the winter, with occasional side trips in between.
