Dave Maclure was raised on the mission field. His parents were missionaries to Africa and still serve there. After a degree at York University, where he was the Christian Union's International Secretary, Dave took a Master's in Conflict, Governance and Development, remaining in York as an international student worker based at St Michael le Belfrey Church. In 2003 he married Rachel from Brazil. The couple have travelled widely, seeing the worldwide church in a variety of settings. Since 2006 they have been living in north-east Brazil where Dave is learning Portuguese, teaching English and working with local students. They have a young son, Nelson.
