Multicultural Psychology integrates quantitative and qualitative methods with anecdotes that present multicultural issues while capturing the richness of diverse cultures. The text focuses on compelling topics such as differences in worldviews and communication; racial/cultural identity development; issues of racism; immigration; and nonracial populations of diversity, such as gender, sexuality, age, and ability. Dr. Jeffery Scott Mio is a professor in the Psychology and Sociology Department at California State Polytechnic University, Ponoma, where he also serves as the Director of the M.S. in Psychology program. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Chicago, in 1984. Dr. Mio has taught
multicultural psychology since 1986. He is a Fellow in Division 2 (Society for the Teaching of Psychology) and Division 45 (Society for the Psychological Study of Ethinic Minority Issues) of the American Psychological Association, as well as a Fellow of the Asian American Psychological Association
and the Western psychological Association. Dr. Lori A. Barker is a professor in the Psychology and Sociology Department at California State Polytechnic University, Ponoma. Dr. Barker is a licensed clinical psychologist and also works part-time as the Administrative Director of the Cal Poly Pomona,
Ennis W. Cosby, Child and Family Services Friendmobile. Dr. Barker received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from UCLA. Jaydee Santos Tumambing graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Ponoma, in 2003 with her M.S. in Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is
now in private practice in the Los Angeles area.
