Multimedia Journalism by Andy Bull

Offers advice on working across multiple media platforms and guides you to create and use video, audio, text and pictures.

"A great textbook for undergraduate journalists with a well thought out mix of practical exercises and tips and hints as well as plenty of real-world examplesIt covers the essential technical skills they will need. Very impressive." Mary Williams, Portsmouth University

"A text like this is perfect for a young journalist learning the ropes of the business. I’m a huge fan of the chapter setup, and the online portion of the course, it will tie it directly to my course website as well." Rob Johnson, Director of Multimedia Technology, La Salle College High School

"The entire layout is inviting for students and a mine of information and ideas for teachers/tutors. It is written in an accessible manner without talking down to its readers, and is obviously written by a journalist for journalism students, but would also be invaluable to a working journalist who was now having to tackle the demands of the convergent newsroom." Angela Birchall, Salford University

Andy Bull has written syllabuses for the National Council for the Training of Journalists in Online Journalism, Magazine Journalism, Financial Journalism and Sports Reporting. He is core tutor on the Periodical Training Council-approved Post Graduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism run by PMA Training of London. He has been a journalist for thirty years and has had senior roles on The Independent, The Times, The Mail on Sunday and The Sunday Express. He relaunched The Times Online and was editorial director of AOL UK. He is now a freelance editor, writer, author and journalism tutor.
