Murdoch Mysteries - Poor Tom Is Cold by Maureen Jennings
Detective William Murdoch is not convinced that Constable Oliver Wicken - a man who was the sole support of his mother and invalid sister - committed suicide. When he begins to suspect the involvement of Wicken's neighbours, the Eakin family, Mrs Eakin is committed to a lunatic asylum. Is she really insane, he wonders, or has she been deliberately driven over the edge?
"Contemporary social, religious, and sexual mores frame a strong plot line and delineate a resourceful 'hero' Highly recommended." (Library Journal) "A satisfying mystery perfectly wedded to its evocative setting. Jennings's sales and reputation should continue to grow with this third strong effort." (Publisher's Weekly)"
Maureen Jennings emigrated to Canada from the UK at the age of seventeen. Best known for the Murdoch Mysteries series, the TV adaptation of which has been running since 2008, Jennings has also launched a new contemporary series featuring a forensic profiler named Christine Morris. She lives in Toronto, Canada with her husband, two cats and two dogs.
