Mushrooms of Southern Africa by Albert Eicker
This field guide sets out to answer this need through the use of clear colour photographs (mostly two per species: one in situ, the other showing mushroom parts in greater detail in a laboratory setting) and explanatory text opposite each photograph. Line drawings (115 in total) are used to describe the different mushroom parts and their various forms. These appear in the introductory text and are repeated, where necessary, in the glossary and the margins of species entries. Habitat symbols and poison symbols also appear in the margins to provide information at a glance. A key to identification forms part of the introductory text, offering a quicker guide to identifying unknown specimens. The guide includes features on mushroom poisoning, collecting and preserving mushrooms. It also provides descriptions and illustrations of 160 species, with clear indication of the degree of edibility of each mushroom (edible, edibility unknown, inedible, poisonous, deadly poisonous).| SKU | Unavailable |
